Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos has joined among other leaders who has rejected the Millions of shillings for his swearing in. He has however reduced the amount to Ksh 3 million which he said will be directed to development projects.
Sonko was the pioneer of this trend and the money set aside for his swearing in was said to cater for city workers and cleaning of Nairobi city.
“There are many projects we did not achieve in our first term. We need funds to realise these projects as we begin the second term,” Tolgos said last week. He will be sworn in on Monday as the third patch for swearing in of governors.
