Melanin So Dark! Sudanese Won't Bleach

Get white, get attention, get famous, get money; this has been formulae to many ladies for them to make ends meet. This is not the situation anymore as many black women make ways to the top with their dark skins.

This era. Where girl child has shown her flaws and shines while the boychild deteriorate. talk of Lupita Nyong'o (queen of Kenya), miss world Kenya and other black beauties that never bleach to get attention. Vera Sidika also makes a good example (just kidding).

Nyakim Gatwech, a Sudanese, loves her skin. It is beautiful. The darker the berry the sweeter the juice, some said.

WHY ON EARTH WOULD I EVER BLEACH THIS BEAUTIFUL MELANIN?’
This was her reply when she was asked by a taxi driver if she could bleach for a million shillings.

Nyakim, who is a model, act as a voice for the voiceless and uses her modelling skills to empower youths. Recently in her post, she addressed the importance of her skin and how she is proud of herself;

DEAR MY MOONSHINE DARK SKIN, SUN-KISSED COMPLEXION, BURN SKIN OR WHATEVER THEY MIGHT CALL YOU: YOU ARE BEYOND BEAUTIFUL AND THE LOVE I HAVE FOR IS UNCONDITIONAL BECAUSE YOU ARE ME’.YOU REPRESENT ME AND I REPRESENT YOU AND LET SHOW THE WORLD HOW BEAUTIFUL AND INTELLIGENT WE ARE APART FROM JUST BEING DARK SKIN.BECAUSE WE ARE MORE THAN WHAT THIS SOCIETY THINK OF OUR DARK SKIN LET STAND UP FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T. LET’S SPEAK UP THOSE WHO CAN’T. AND STAY BEAUTIFUL WHILE DOING IT.’

This is what the black people should embrace rather than copying the west until we lose our identity. Black is beautiful.

DON’T LET AMERICAN STANDARDS DAMAGE YOUR AFRICAN SOUL. LOVE THE SKIN YOU LIVE IN, NO MATTER WHAT COLOUR OR SHADE IT MAY BE.’

Nyakim added.
